Thank you for visiting my site.
My name is James Dockins and I have been a teacher for over 14 years. Through my experience there has been constant change. This site is designed to walk through some of the changes happening in the classroom and how to hopefully cope with the changes that are still ongoing.
To begin with, here is a little about me. I currently have a masters degree in education and plan to one day move on to administration in some way. Whether it is a principal or vice principal position, or working for the district office. My experience includes one year in Kindergarten and first grade, four years in third grade, one year in middle school, and the rest in fifth grade. Currently I teach math, science, and STEM.
Through my years of teaching I have witnessed the early years in which state testing was not stressed over to the state in which most of us are in today. The constant stress, worry, and hope that this year my test scores will be at a level that makes my administrator happy. It is very different from where I began, but fortunately I have found many helpful ideas that keep my head above water and the students growing.
I hope you find this site both interesting and helpful. Please take time to check out the blog below and leave some comments, questions, or feedback.
